Made in Saginaw: Mule Resophonic Guitars

What picture does the word “guitar” trigger in your mind? Maybe something made out of wood? Acoustic? Electric? Well there is a type of guitar made of steel and wood called a resophonic guitar and Matt Eich of Mule Resophinc Guitars is making them by hand right here in Saginaw, MI. After working in a basement where he was able to turn out about five guitars a month, in his new work space and with a assistance from his friends he is able to create three a week. With 100 guitars under his belt, his goal is to create another 100 or more this coming year. As he continues to grow his work, he discovered the importance of developing ways to work more efficiently while maintaining a hands on personal touch to each instrument that is created.
