Polar Plunge 2012
The Special Olympics of Michigan hosted the 2012 Polar Plunge at Haithco Park in Saginaw, MI on February 25, 2012. Participants jumped into icy cold water in support of the organization’s mission to “provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for all children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Athletes are given continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness and athletic skill, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.”
